SSC Racing was established in 1997 as a division of the Lynwood Motorsport Group, founded in 1973. With our experience in the motorsport industry of over 20 years, SSC soon became known as one of the largest and most advanced kart distributors in the Pan-American Continent. The original business plan is the driving force of the company’s growth - to stay focused on our core line of products that every driver needs - Chassis, Engines, Tires, Race wear and Parts.

Joe Ramos started his career in the motorsport industry in 1965, working in management in sales and marketing with Yamaha Motor Co. and Kawasaki Motors Corp. for a combined total of 20 years. This was followed by another 10 years as owner-operator of three diversified motorsport dealerships in the San Francisco area. He is now President and a founding member of SSC Racing.

Joe Ramos knows one of the keys to success is to surround himself with strong management who are committed to excellence and well grounded family values. Peter Ruiz, James Perez, Ruben Dacanay and Lola Green are just a few of the key managers that have a combined 30 plus years with SSC. Stability is the foundation of our business.

SSC is committed to the growth of the karting business. Its ongoing contribution to focus and develop an easy-to-understand and low maintenance kart race program, resulted in Joe Ramos becoming the founding father of the Rotax Max Challenge, the fastest growing spec race series in the Americas.
